Two perspectives on Taksim Square, Istanbul. It is the traffic hub of modern Istanbul, quite a distance away from the Old Town. When arriving at the airport I was puzzled that people wanted to sell me a “Taxi, taxi” to this square. I kept saying “no, I want a bus”. It was only later that I realized they were saying “Taksim”.

Turkish Air

Today I took the plane to Istanbul, Turkey, to visit the LREC conference. Istanbul is such a mind-blowing place, it gives the photographically-inclined a visual overload in no time! So many different architectural styles, so diverse people, so much history.
